{"id":354,"date":"2013-07-09T13:06:45","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T01:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kiwibees.net\/?p=354"},"modified":"2013-07-09T13:06:45","modified_gmt":"2013-07-09T01:06:45","slug":"lync-2013-monitoring-mirroring-gotcha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.gingerninja.nz\/?p=354","title":{"rendered":"Lync 2013 Monitoring and Mirroring Gotcha"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you don&#8217;t configure your 2013 platform for SQL mirroring from the outset (or at least, prior to deploying the Lync Reports), then add mirroring later, you&#8217;ll find your Lync Monitoring Reports stop working when you failover the SQL servers.<\/p>\n<p>Reason being is the report deployment will configure its datasources for the SQL instance(s) its aware of at deployment time, and subsequent changes to SQL topology wont be updated in the datasources later.<\/p>\n<p>Not a major to fix, you&#8217;ll just need to change your datasource connection strings.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">1. Open your SSRS front end http:\/\/&lt;server&gt;\/reports<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">2. Open the Reports_Content Folder<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">3. Edit the properties of <strong>both<\/strong> <strong>CDRDB<\/strong> and <strong>QMSDB<\/strong> datasources<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:16px;\">4. Change the connection strings to use the following syntax: \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">Data Source=<strong>SQLServer1SQLInstance<\/strong>;Failover Partner=<\/span><strong style=\"font-size:16px;\">SQLServer2SQLInstance<\/strong><span style=\"font-size:16px;\">;initial catalog=<\/span><strong style=\"font-size:16px;\">&lt;DBName&gt;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>5.
