{"id":521,"date":"2014-02-15T13:13:09","date_gmt":"2014-02-15T00:13:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.kiwibees.net\/?p=521"},"modified":"2017-07-13T04:29:41","modified_gmt":"2017-07-13T04:29:41","slug":"snooper-install-returns-vcredist-error","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.gingerninja.nz\/?p=521","title":{"rendered":"Snooper install returns vcredist error"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chances are if you&#8217;re trying to install the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=35453\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lync 2013 Debugging Tools<\/a>, you may find you receive the following error message:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-523 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.gingerninja.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/vcredist_error.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"371\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.gingerninja.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/vcredist_error.png 371w, https:\/\/blog.gingerninja.nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/vcredist_error-300x142.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The obvious requirement here is to ensure you have the Visual C++ 2012 x64 Redistributable package installed, and that it be version 11.0.50.727.<\/p>\n<p>The trouble comes when you try and download that version. It&#8217;s next to impossible to find as the only versions listed on the official Microsoft sites are either a higher increment of version 11, which doesn&#8217;t work, or version 12.x, which also doesn&#8217;t work. Frustrating much?<\/p>\n<p>The simple solution is to go dig up your<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">\u00a0Lync Server 2013 install media, and you&#8217;ll find this version in the <strong>~<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\"><strong>Setupamd64<\/strong> folder. Install that, and you&#8217;re gold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Alternatively you can download a copy from <a href=\"https:\/\/skydrive.live.com\/redir?resid=C59BCBA73C4A6DE!3103&amp;authkey=!AG6PkfxigQEta2Y&amp;ithint=file%2c.exe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, however please be aware this is not an official Microsoft source &#8211; its just the copy from my Lync media that I&#8217;ve uploaded.
